Online Typing Test and Motivational Pictures

As if you didn't type enough already...
I always like to challenge myself and see how I do anyway. Just for fun, if you'd like to do the same, check out this nifty little diddy:

120* words

For the remainder of this post, I present to you, two images I received yesterday via email - both in the same genre: modified motivational posters. And since learning to type could require motivation, I figured it's all tied in together and, therefore, could be seamlessly posted together like-a so!

Have a great weekend!

*Actual WPM before modification was 69

Conspiracies

With everyone watching their back and the internet giving rise to new ways of theft and brain control, I thought it was funny to get this cartoon from a friend, in my email yesterday. It just so happens that my brother brought up government conspiracy theories last night also, so I figured it must be fate. For more cartoons like this, you can visit the maker's site: Toothpaste for Dinner.

Weight Lost = Money Gained?

Can losing weight make you money? If you live in America and have access to the internet, I say it most definitely should! Take for example Saphrym (the father, husband, teacher, thinker, reader, writer, dieter) and his daily logs of exercise and nutrition on his quest for a leaner physique. Are they superficially interesting to the average reader? Probably not, but if one were so inclined, a lot could be learned by perusing the comments left for him - usually (somewhat sound) advice about his blog-posting ability or weight loss journey. On top of that, Saphrym and others like him, offer contests like this $250 beauty where you can take home a mint, just for posting like me!

There are some very intelligent people out there blogging and sharing their information for free, solely because they care. Sure you could pay some meat-head a couple grand to show you how to do squats correctly...OR, you could perchance come across a helpful comment left for a dieting blogger, which included a video of the proper technique, FOR FREE (what a deal!), all the while gaining valuable information about nutrition too! Ok, Ok, so he's not the most graceful swan on the lake, but he gets the job done!

So what are you waiting for? Hop on over to visit Saphrym and get your fill of blog-trolling for free information and contests today - you might not lose any weight but you could definitely make some money!

Entrecard Contest Addiction

(His Artwork, Not Mine)

It seems that every Entrecarder has been infected with the contest bug lately! It has been said before, although it had nothing to do with Entrecard at that time, that there can be only ONE - in this case I'm referring to VikingBlogger's current EC-credits-contest-to-beat-all-others.
Apparently, VikingBlogger purchased a couple thousand credits and they are burning a hole in his pockets, so he's decided to hold the largest giveaway in Entrecard history - 20,000 credits!

If you're a blogger and don't know about Entrecard, you need to get on board. If you're already a member, then you'll understand the significance of this contest, and you'll participate immediately.

For anyone else, not encompassed by the former two categories, I hope you didn't waste your time reading this post. :-D But thank you for your readership!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rather than create a whole new post for a related concept, here is an Entrecard link-paradise:

Everyday Fitness

You don't have time to work out, but surely you could implement a couple of these suggestions to make you feel better despite that fact (originally posted on Breaking the Silence where you can find all kinds of health and wellness goodies!):

Living Healthy Made Easy

So you're NOT the athletic kind, not even the type who would be found anywhere near an exercise video, much less a gym. Fret not, because a healthy lifestyle is still within reach. According to the "Stealth Health" movement, sneaking healthy habits into our daily living is easier than we think.
Dr. David Katz, director of Yale University's Prevention Research Center and of the Yale Preventive Medicine Center said there are at least 2,400 ways to sneak healthy activities into daily living.
Just do any three of the 12 changes below and incorporate them into your life for four days. When you feel comfortable with those changes, pick three others. Once you've incorporated all 12 changes, you should start to feel a difference within a couple of weeks:

To improve Nutrition:

1. Buy whole foods (whether canned, frozen or fresh from the farm) instead of processed foods.
2. Reject foods and drinks made with corn syrup.
3. Start each dinner with a mixed green salad.

To improve Physical Fitness:

1. Do a squat every time you pick something up instead of bending over.
2. Every time you stop at a traffic light (whether you're driving or riding a car or bus), tighten your thighs and butt muscles and release as many times as you can.
3. Whenever you're standing on a line, lift one foot a half-inch off the ground. Switch every few minutes.

To improve Stress Control:

1. Give your husband/wife/parent(s) a hug every day before work.
2. Have a good cry.
3. Twice a day, breathe deeply for three to five minutes.

To improve Sleep:

1. Sprinkle just-washed sheets and pillowcases with lavender water.
2. Buy a new pillow.
3. Eat a handful of walnuts before going to bed.
